Oriented to support the continuous strengthening of public radio and television services, The National Network of Educational and Cultural Radio and Television Stations was founded on October 31, 1994, in the City of Pachuca, Hidalgo.  It was constituted as the highest representative of the public mass media in Mexico, until its reestablishment in the year 2005.

The evolution presented by the organization created the need to restructure it in a significant way, originating The Network of Educational and Cultural Radio and Television Stations of Mexico, A. C., which was properly constituted on November 1, 2005.

The Executive Counsel of 2004-2005, presided by Dra. Camacho, conduced the work to update the statutes of this organization.  In the Extraordinary  Assembly that took place on June 16, 2005, in the main hall "José Vasconcelos" of the National Center of the Arts in Mexico City, she exposed the need to relaunch The Network in order to grant it an authentic legal status.

Such need was attended by the Extraordinary Assembly, which authorized that all  necessary procedures be carried out to register the association, and also in this case,  to rename it.  Thus, the civil association was constituted as THE NETWORK OF EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL RADIO AND TELEVISION STATIONS OF MEXICO, A. C., which in conformance with  the laws of the Mexican Republic, was formally constituted and recorded in the public instrument number 37.027, dated November 01, 2005, certified by the  Licentiate José Angel Fernández Uria, holder of the Notary number 217 of the Federal District, who was also acting as a Protocol associate officer in the Public Notary 186, in the registration of the public act remaining in property of the federal entity referred to, under the legal person number 74.216, dated February 15, 2006.
